Delete your account
Kadam holds almost nothing about you, so there is less to delete here than most apps would have. This page says exactly what exists, how to remove it, and what happens to the rest.
What an account actually is
Your name, your email address, and — if you gave one — your phone number. That is the whole account. It lives on our sign-in server so we can let you back in and contact you about the app.
Nothing you log is attached to it. Your sessions, sets, meals, weight, cycle entries, lab reports and routes are held in an encrypted database on your phone, with a key kept in the Android Keystore or the iOS keychain. We have no readable copy of any of it, which is also why we cannot delete it for you — only your phone can.
The one exception is an encrypted backup, if you chose to make one. That is a copy of your logs encrypted on your phone with a key from a recovery phrase only you hold. We store the ciphertext under an anonymous ID; we cannot read it, and it is not linked to your account.
Deleting it from inside the app
Open Settings → Delete account and data. That removes the account record from our server, deletes your encrypted backup if you made one, and destroys the local database and its encryption key on the device. It cannot be undone, and there is no copy anywhere to restore from.
If your phone is offline at that moment, the app tells you which part could not be reached, so nothing is left behind without you knowing. You can try again, or email us as below.
Deleting it without the app
If you have already uninstalled Kadam, or cannot open it, email support@kadam.health from the address you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account. We use the matching address as the proof that it is yours — we will not ask you for anything else, and we will not ask you to reinstall anything.
We act on the request within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done.
An encrypted backup cannot be found from your email address, because it is deliberately not linked to your account. Delete it from the app under Settings → Encrypted backup before you uninstall. If you have already uninstalled, it can only be reached with your recovery phrase, which we never had.
What is deleted, and what was never kept
- Deleted: your name, email and phone number from the sign-in server, and your waitlist entry if you joined one.
- Deleted with your account in the app: your encrypted backup, if you made one.
- Destroyed with the app: everything you logged. Uninstalling removes the encrypted database and its key from the device.
- Never kept in the first place: questions you ask Kadam AI and photographs you take with Food Snap are processed and discarded, not stored. Dictation audio never reaches our servers at all.
- Opt-in analytics: off unless you switched it on. If you did, the events are anonymous counts tagged with a random identifier generated on your device, with nothing in them that says who you are. Ask us and we will remove that identifier's events too.
Exporting first
Deletion is final, so if you want to keep your history, export it before you go: Settings → Export your data writes everything to a JSON file you keep. Under India's DPDP Act 2023 and the GDPR that right is yours regardless, and the export is how it works here.
